Two caravans, four adults, and one unforgettable adventure! Tricia Stringer’s The Road Trip is a story about friendship, family, and the life-changing magic of travelling through Australia’s heart.
As someone who caravans with my own family, I loved every moment of this book. From the laugh-out-loud mishaps (overflowing toilets included!) to the breathtaking descriptions of our beautiful country, it all felt wonderfully real. Sharyn’s adjustment to caravan life particularly made me smile — I’ve been there myself!
What makes this novel so special is the way the characters evolve. The relationships between Sharyn, Barry, Ray, and Kathleen are tested by the trip’s challenges, but also reshaped by its unexpected joys. By the end, I felt uplifted and connected to each of them.
The Road Trip is a clever blend of humour, authenticity, and heart. It reminded me just how lucky we are to explore Australia in our own backyard. A five-star read that I’ll be recommending to fellow travellers and book lovers alike.
