In The House at Angel’s Beach, Phillipa Nefri Clark takes us back to Rivers End with a story full of secrets, family conflict, and redemption. Ivy Ross left home a decade ago with her heart in pieces and her beloved father behind bars. Now she’s back, reluctantly, at the urging of her sister Jody, to settle the family estate—Fairview House. But when Ivy discovers a collection of letters hidden in her father’s library, long-buried truths and a heartbreaking love story come to light. With Leo, a man whose life was equally shaped by her father’s crime, Ivy must uncover the past to make peace with her family’s future.
Phillipa’s writing is, as always, deeply immersive. She brings her settings and characters to life so vividly that I felt completely swept into Ivy and Jody’s world. I particularly loved the family dynamics—the mix of love, loyalty, and tension between the sisters felt so real. The gentle second chance romance added another layer of hope, while the central mystery kept me turning the pages. Heartfelt, emotional at times, and beautifully crafted, this book is a reminder of why Phillipa is one of my favourite authors. An easy 5 stars from me.
