What a beautiful book! I absolutely loved The Borrowed Life of Frederick Fife — it’s one of those rare stories that feels both joyful and deeply moving.

Frederick Fife stole my heart from the very first chapter. He’s kind, gentle, and a little bit lost, but his borrowed adventure brings so much humour, warmth, and hope. There were a few moments that brought a tear to my eye, but mostly I found myself smiling at the cleverness and heart that shine through every page.

Knowing that Anna Johnston based this story on her grandfather makes it even more special. You can feel the love and authenticity behind her words. What a wonderful tribute to a life well lived.

A funny, touching, and life-affirming read about kindness, second chances, and the families we make along the way. I honestly can’t recommend it highly enough — five stars, without hesitation.
