Second Edition with five new Bonus Chapters.

Each book I read from Susan Mackie only makes me want to dive straight into the next. I am absolutely loving the Barrington Series and how each new instalment allows me to get to know the characters even more. With every book, I find myself completely immersed in the story—so much so that the people, the town, and the emotions all come to life in my mind as I turn the pages.

In this story, we meet Harriet, a woman looking for a fresh start after a life-altering mistake. Leaving Sydney behind with a business idea in mind and determination in her heart, she sets off on a journey north, hoping to rebuild her life. But fate has other plans. A stopover at Barrington Homestead brings unexpected encounters, including one with Drummond Murray—a fifth-generation cattle farmer whose impeccable manners don’t quite make up for his distant nature. Harriet has no choice but to accept his help, though she’s not keen on seeing him again.

Then there’s Ben Evans, a warm and good-humoured stock and station agent who offers a stark contrast to the reserved Drummond. But Harriet isn’t looking for romance—she’s focused on moving forward. However, as circumstances keep her in Barrington longer than planned, she begins to find solace in the people around her. After months of feeling lost, being needed in this tight-knit community strikes a chord, making her question whether Barrington might just be the place to start over.

Susan Mackie is an expert storyteller, bringing her words to life in every way. Her ability to weave together emotion, small-town charm, and compelling characters makes every book a joy to read. The only downside? I stay up way too late reading and never get enough sleep!

Another brilliant addition to the Barrington Series—I can’t wait for the next one!
