The author expertly introduces new characters while allowing us to reconnect with those we met in the previous book. Their development feels natural, and I loved getting to know them on a deeper level as the story progressed.
Set in rural NSW, this book is more than just a romance (which I absolutely love, by the way). It also weaves in elements of suspense and intrigue, keeping me hooked from start to finish. Rose Gordon is a strong, independent woman who always believed she would inherit her family’s cattle farm. But when her grandfather’s will throws an unexpected twist her way—and the arrival of the mysterious Angus Hamilton complicates matters even further—her world is turned upside down. With the weight of her family legacy, a relentless drought, and the unsettling feeling that someone may be working against her, Rose must decide if she’s willing to fight for what’s hers.
I found myself eagerly turning the pages, trying to piece together the clues and see if my suspicions were correct. The mix of heartfelt moments, small-town dynamics, and a touch of mystery adds an extra layer to the story, making it even more engaging.
It’s such a well-written book and an absolute pleasure to read. I can’t wait to dive into the next instalment in the Barrington Series and see where the journey takes me next!
